Program Details

Pumpkin Tours
A farm tour that introduces young children to many elements of the farm. Students taste fresh vegetables straight from the field and harvest a pumpkin to take home. Best suited for preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade. Offered during the month of October.
Suggested donation: $1/student

Harvest Meals
A 2-4 hour farm visit that includes a variety of age-appropriate lessons and activities in the field and kitchen. Students will participate in harvesting and cooking lunch at the farm. Harvest Meals are offered in the fall, September-October and in the spring, April-June.
Suggested donation: $3-6/student

Digging Deeper Program
This school year long program includes 2-4 farm field trips and 10 school visits with lessons taught in the classroom and school garden. Students will progress through a sequence of lessons and activities over the course of the school year that will provide them with a comprehensive, hands-on educational experience in farming, food preparation, nutrition, and environmental studies.
Suggested donation: $10-20/student/year

Summer Camp
Rogue Valley Brambles Summer Camp several one-week sessions are available each summer. Children will engage in many farm activities including planting & tending crops, caring for farm animals, harvesting, cooking & preserving fresh produce, cheese making, science projects, arts & crafts and more! Camp includes a farm fresh lunch.
Day camp offered in partnership with Kids Unlimited at our Medford Farm site, Dunbar Farms. Students visit the farm 2 days/week for for four weeks and participate in many aspects of farming. Each day students harvest and cook lunch at the farm. Two sessions offered from late June-August. Registration through Kids Unlimited

Farm Field Trip
A 1-3 hour farm visit that includes age-appropriate activities and lessons, and a field fresh snack. Field trips are similar to a Harvest Meal experience without a meal. Field trips are offered September-June.
Suggested donation: $2/student

Classroom Visits
There are many valuable farm related lessons that are better suited to the classroom. A RVF2S educator will visit your class for a lesson focusing on farming, the food system, seasonal eating and other related topics. This is often a valuable addition before and/or after a farm visit.
Suggested donation: $5-10/visit

School Garden Sessions
RVF2S is committed to supporting facilitating the construction of school gardens throughout the Rogue Valley. We expect to support one new garden each year. Our education staff will visit schools and lead hands-on activities in the school garden. Lessons focus on farming skills and techniques, health and nutrition, and environmental topics.
