We are excited to invite you to see Rogue Valley Farm to School in action this fall. Join us for a tour and witness firsthand the hands-on learning, creativity, and curiosity of our students. We love sharing our programs with the community and showing the magic happening every day!

Procurement Updates

Schools are off to a terrific start with local purchasing using their Oregon Farm to CNP Non-competitive Reimbursable Grants. Rogue Valley Farm to School has assisted with Eagle Point School District gobbling up almost 300 lbs of grapes from the Suncatcher Food Forest and Faerie Road Farm in Josephine County. Phoenix Talent School District's new executive chef, Ryan Sweet, is making waves with a $1300.00 tuna order from Tre-Fin, amongst many other amazing local purchases, and we're building new relationships with Rogue River School District and Three Rivers School District as they foray into more local purchasing! Nourishing children is no easy feat, and we are so honored to be working with dedicated school nutrition staff and impassioned producers throughout Jackson and Josephine counties as we build those relationships and continue to foster children's relationships with their community through food.

To kick off our Tasting Tables for the year, we brought cherry tomatoes to the cafeterias of our partner schools for September, and we're gearing up for apples in October. Tasting Tables are a great way to introduce new foods in a neutral and interactive way, as kids can come and take a taste of something new or previously unappealing and learn a little bit more about seasonal and local eating--and they also serve to inspire more of those local purchases as well!

Harvest Snack Field Trips

We are so excited to kick off our new field trip series this fall- harvest snacks

Kiddos will harvest fresh veggies straight from the farm, chop them up, and create their own “Rainbow Soup!” The product is a bright, brothy, warming meal that they get to share with friends on the farm. Thank you to the Family Nurturing Center for all of their hard work growing produce for our programming, and to Southern Oregon Research & Extension Center for hosting us!

We are incredibly grateful to Quality Fence Company for generously donating their time, tools, and resources to install a brand-new whiteboard and kiosk at the Mae Richardson School Garden.
