The holidays are one of the most special times in garden class as educators get to make traditions and memories with our students in the garden. Some classes crafted bundles of rosemary and lavender, tied together with colorful yarn, to gift family and friends while other classes learned about holiday traditions from around the world, celebrating with cooking projects and shared recipes.
Klamath Grown provided fresh potatoes that students used to make to make latkes while learning about the history of hanukkah. As we cooked together and enjoyed traditional games, like playing dreidel, we talked about the meanings behind different celebrations and how people in many cultures mark this time of year. Whatever you choose to celebrate we hope your holidays were filled with as much fun, tasty food and heartfelt gifts as our classes were!
