Spring is here in the school gardens! April is a time for blooming trees, busy pollinators, and fresh plant starts for our students’ gardens. Last week, Vicki Hames, who has been growing plant starts for us for several years, brought pea shoots and baby onions for the Garden Educators to plant with students. Partnering with Vicki has been fantastic, giving us the opportunity to dial in what works best in school gardens, what kids love to eat, and the timing of it all! Vicki's many years of growing expertise means not only that we get beautiful, lush plants, but also a chance to pick her brain on all things garden! Her kind, generous sharing of knowledge is a gift.
